St Mark's
Rev Chris Elms is Priest-in-Charge of St Mark's,
in the parish of St Mark with St Georges.
Some history of St Mark's
St Mark’s is a Church of England church within Locking Deanery and part of the Diocese of Bath and Wells.
As of October 2021 we became our own parish. Previously, we were part of a team parish which included St Martin’s and Wick St Lawrence.
Our address is St Mark's Road, Weston-super-Mare, BS22 7PW and we are located on the roundabout where Queensway and St Mark's Road meet.
The church was built in 1980 and was originally a Local Ecumenical Partnership (LEP) between the Methodist church and the Church of England.
Later on extension rooms were added to the rear of the church. This created a disabled toilet, one large hall, and a room set aside for meetings and prayer.
In 2012 the LEP had run its course and so St Mark’s became a Church of England church only.
Chris and his family have been at St Mark's since 2012.
